Lacy Mitchell is a photographer based in Los Angeles. Working in both digital and film, their photographs are inspired by growing up as an undiagnosed Autistic person trying to find their place in the world and never quite succeeding. Their art, combined with being diagnosed as an adult, has led to finding their place, to being more comfortable in their skin, and to sharing their viewpoints effectively. Mitchell's work is designed to inspire others and to share the neurodivergent experience, instead of perpetuating the cliches. Their images include strong sensory elements, helping the viewer to experience the moment captured.
